RVT

Marisa

I ended up at Preston Animal Clinic after my first year of being an RVT. I  had a passion for exotics, so I wanted to find a clinic that I would be able to continue to learn and work with all creatures; big, small, furry, feathered or with scales.

Ever since I was a little girl I have had a passion for animals. My first obsession was with horses and farm animals. I always thought I would work in large animal because my happy place was being on the farm. Little did I know I would end up working with the smallest of creatures instead and love it even more.

At Preston Animal Clinic you can find me in surgery, taking blood on patients and assisting veterinarians in their appointments. I love the feeling of winning over an anxious or grumpy pet and am always up for the challenge

I attended St. Clair College in Windsor for the Veterinary Technician program. Shortly after graduation I got my first job at a practice in Waterloo and then wrote my registration exam (VTNE). I have also become fear free certified since being at Preston Animal Clinic.

I currently live in the country with my boyfriend, our two dogs  Mowgli and Hunter, Felix the cat, Spencer the Meyer’s Parrot , a rabbit named BunBun and our flock of chickens.  In our spare time (which we rarely have) we enjoy taking the dog on walks along the river and enjoying our backyard.
