I have always loved animals and from a young age I wanted to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine, beginning with studying Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. Ultimately, my path took me in a different direction and I graduated with a BSc in Plant Biology. Following my love of nature and conservation I pursued a Masters of Environmental Studies at York University and then found myself working in corporate communications in Toronto for a decade. 

In 2020 I was inspired to return to Veterinary Medicine when my beloved tortoiseshell Berger had some health challenges including seizures and dental issues. During this stressful time, I felt truly supported by Berger’s veterinary team who spent plenty of time speaking to me on the phone, explaining procedures and putting me at ease about her care (particularly through the challenges of early Covid!). Through that experience I decided to make a career switch and pursue the Veterinary Technician path. In 2023, I graduated with honours from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College and was registered later that year.

I love that in this job every day presents new opportunities for learning and that there is never a dull moment! I look forward to continuously learning throughout my career to provide the best quality of care to our patients and am grateful to be a part of the amazing team here at Preston Animal Clinic.
